Pete Ward  23rd Nov 09

Is God calling you to work with 24-7 Prayer at a Senior International Level? We’re looking for someone who loves 24-7 and has significant experience in business to fill a strategic new role in the international movement.  Find out if this role is for you and apply by the 31st December...

Chief Operating Officer

As you’ll know if you’re a regular visitor to this website, the 24-7 Prayer movement has grown exponentially since 1999, connecting Prayer Rooms in a hundred nations and giving rise to a family of new ministries as well as a network of missional communities.

As we approach our tenth anniversary God’s been giving us a thrilling vision for the next ten years and speaking to us about ‘crossing the river Jordan’ to inherit the Promised Land. For the people of Israel this meant transitioning from being ‘a wandering people with a dream’ to a people that knew how to farm, build and govern. For 24-7 it means getting practical, getting organised, getting sustainable and growing up! Our new COO will work closely with Pete Greig to::

  • Develop and implement a strategic plan for the UK and international organisation which embraces its vision and looks to the future
  • Bring structure and process to the inherent innovation and flair of the network, while continuing to promote its values consistently
  • Oversee fundraising activities and support departments working in the areas of church planting, prayer and communications
  • Manage and grow a small, dedicated team in the UK; build strong international relationships with 24-7 Prayer partners abroad

The sort of person we’re praying for is:

  • Passionate about Jesus and changing the world through prayer, mission and justice
  • Experienced in developing and successfully implementing commercial initiatives, ideally with some international exposure. Your background may be in the private or public sector
  • An able manager of budgets.
  • A team player, hands-on manager and self-starter
  • A confident relationship-builder who likes to celebrate all that is good and enjoys having fun at work!

For further information, see an organisational chart and 24-7's vision and values.

To request a full job description email your CV with a covering note of application.  Deadline for applications: 31 December 2009.

Pete Ward has spent the last 15 years of his life learning more about the journey of prayer. Living in Reading, Pete was one of the founders of the Reading Boiler Room, and has been involved in 24-7 since rumours of what God was up to through this model of prayer started circulating the south of England. Before being dramatically called to come and help 24-7 in the area of Operations, Pete worked for 10 years in the IT industry in the UK’s version of Silicon Valley. He enjoys music and photography, and sharing good food with friends.
