International leader and author of Punk Monk writes about some important and exciting changes happening in the near future...
"I wanted to write to let you know about some changes to my role within 24-7 in the coming weeks. For many years now I've been a member of the international leadership of 24-7 Prayer and have been privileged to help nurture and encourage communities and Boiler Rooms across the globe. It has been an honour and a joy to be part of this amazing journey so it is with some excitement and some sadness that I set part of my involvement aside...
I have been accepted by the Church of England to begin training as an Ordained Pioneer Minister. This is an incredible opportunity to try and see whether we could plant a 24-7 Community in Reading, recognised as a formal congregation within the Anglican church.
This is a change which has come from years of prayer and much discussion, but I am convinced it’s something God wants me to do, and I’m excited about what He might do through it. We have been building a 24-7 Community called 'Reconcile' here in Reading, England for a couple of years and there are now 20 of us, sharing life, praying and seeking to see Reading changed and transformed.
Training for ordination and investing in local community are going to have an effect on my involvement with 24-7 Prayer, and in particular my role within International and UK Communities. It has been an incredible priviledge to serve but it’s time to step aside and make room for someone new. My commitment and passion for 24-7 Prayer continues, and so you will still see me around! Reconcile will be a 24-7 Community, and I'm continuing to shape 24-7’s involvement in the area of Social Justice. Thank you for all the support and help you’ve given to me and my family in the past years, I look forward to an exciting future together."
