“We’re coming to the end of 40 days of 24-7 prayer on campus,” writes Peter Horton from the University of Wisconsin, Madison.  “I partnered with staff and students from several campus ministries, to pull this together.  We kicked off the 40 days of prayer with a worship and prayer night that over 350 students attended! Our theme has been 'Prepare the Way' and the way is being prepared!"

"In Greek IV, 9 students have made decisions for Christ!  Six of them in this past week.  We believe it’s because of our united prayers, and we are believing for more!  I’ve seen students emotionally healed and delivered.  One student I prayed with found freedom from a fear of abandonment that has been with him since he was four!"

"Students are experiencing closer intimacy with - and a deeper hunger for - God.  They are also receiving new spiritual gifts, a heart for the lost, and a boldness to share the gospel.”

“I've been asking God to give me His heart for the Jewish students on campus. Last Sunday I had this strong urge to pray for the Jewish students on campus. Once I started praying, I felt God's presence stronger than I have felt before.  I could not stop weeping for the Jewish students... even after I stopped praying.  I felt the heart of the Father towards the Jewish people... It empowered me to pray for the Jewish students with a new found passion.” - Hannah, a second year student 

The University of Wisconsin, Madison in the USA was founded in 1884 and proclaims itself one of the ‘largest and most productive institutions of higher learning’.  With now more than 42,000 students enrolled, the University aims to, “achieve leadership in each discipline… and pioneer new fields of learning.”  It seems God is echoing that mission as he raises up new pioneers in prayer and leaders in evangelism…

“I was praying in front of the world map in the Prayer room while Chi Alpha was having their worship night.  God just started laying on my heart this huge burden for the lost.  Suddenly it was clear that my life on earth was truly that of a soldier and real lives were perishing all around me… People are out there who will face eternity without God.  We really are meant to seek and save the lost because they are really lost.” Linda, a third year student 

“I’ve been telling students that this is what happens when God’s people pray and the Holy Spirit is poured out,” continues Peter.  “He’s doing this to draw us closer, create dependence upon His Spirit, and to reach the University of Wisconsin, Madison.  This is not the end, we have only begun to pray so we won’t stop now… I’m so excited to see what God will do next."
