Can teenagers pray 24-7? Haakon from Norway tells us how his Youth Group rose to the challenge:
“We had a great 35 hours of prayer… it was a great touch of God and a new experience for many… We have about 60 young people aged from 13 - 24… and we weren’t sure if they’d gotten a grip of the vision and idea behind 24-7."
"Well… they had! The hour slots were quite easy to fill and I’m so proud of all the young teenagers (13-14 year olds) who for the first time spent an hour alone before God."
"Jesus - thank you for putting a new song in my heart"
Many helped in making the room; they took slots in the middle of the night and loved it - claiming the hour felt like twenty minutes.
"Thank you for giving me a new chance"
"People prayed for our city and our nation, they prayed for workers in the Kingdom, revival, healings, miracles and boldness to take Jesus to their school and friends. There were also honest prayers about sin and family situations that need to be sorted. It was really moving to read them and to know that God heard all these prayers and He intends to answer them.”
"Thank you for washing away all our sins"
Haagon and the teenagers in Bergen are planning to pray again this autumn and are also approaching other Churches to suggest praying together. Let’s pray that they will continue to pray outside of the prayer room and that this is the start of something deep and unified in their city.
